LA Flex Scheme
Local Authority Flexible Eligibility, often shortened to LA Flex, is a part of the UK Government’s new phase of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO3) scheme.
Local Authorities have the option to designate eligibility criteria for the ECO3 scheme, allowing them to tailor energy efficiency schemes to their community. This allows more households, to qualify for ECO3 funding, often on the basis of low incomes, health, age or area, giving councils the ability to support specific communities.
Local authorities wishing to participate in a LA Flex scheme must publish a 'Statement of Intent' that defines the eligibility criteria within that particular local authority.
Flexible Eligibility route is not applicable for social housing tenants.
The same measures apply to applicant of LA Flex as they do if you qualify through benefits, so if you own your home you could get a free replacement Gas Boiler, and the other heating and insulation measures available. If you rent your home, then as with benefits you are eligible for all measures except a replacement Gas Boiler.
To check whether your local authority are running a LA Flex scheme you can search for their statement of intent online or complete our eligibility form and we will call you back to see if you qualify.
